I recently moved to area and was looking for a new dentist office and found Smiles of Hyattsville! This is hands down the best dentist I’ve been to! I came in on Monday for tooth pain and went over my care plan, I received a call back by Wednesday and got scheduled by Friday to fix all my issues! The office setting is very nice and calming. There no long wait times for check in, very respectful staff! Will continue to make this my home dentist!

I visited the practice on two occasions: first for a new patient exam and second for a cleaning. During my initial exam, I was seen by a male doctor who was kind and thorough. I left the appointment feeling confident, as I was informed that my teeth and gums were healthy with no issues, and I was advised to return for a cleaning two days later. However, my experience during the cleaning appointment was concerning. After the dental assistant took initial photos and began the cleaning, I noticed that the assistant was working alone, with no dentist present in the room. There was no suction available, which left me swallowing excess saliva, and after about 10–15 minutes, the assistant abruptly stopped, put down the instruments without explanation, and left the room. I waited for several minutes before I flagged down Dr. Deepa. Without examining my mouth or even looking at my teeth, she diagnosed me with a costly and major dental issue, stating a costly procedure was required with injections alongside it. At this point, another assistant entered, claiming that I was one of the few fortunate patients whose insurance would cover most of the cost, leaving me with a $400 payment. This sudden change in diagnosis raised significant concerns. Given the discrepancies between this diagnosis and what I was told just days earlier, I declined the recommended treatment and requested a standard cleaning. I was then informed that I would need to open a line of dental credit if I wanted to proceed with the cleaning. Fortunately, I reached out to my original dentist, who reviewed my records and confirmed that my teeth and gums were healthy, and no extensive treatment was needed. My original dentist assured me that only a routine cleaning was necessary, and the $2,000 procedure suggested by this office was unwarranted. DO NOT RECOMMEND! A lot of these reviews are forced! They bribe you to leave the review right when you walk, in the door, before you receive any services, with the hopes of winning a cash draw!!! Don't let the reviews confuse you!
